owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE: HIT), today announced the appointment of
Vivekanand Venugopal as director of Solutions and Products director for Asia
Pacific. Vivekanand will play a key role in providing pre-sales teams across the
region with best practices to help companies meet business needs by leveraging
storage solutions from Hitachi Data Systems and its partners.
These storage solutions will help customers match business application requirements
to Hitachi storage system attributes precisely to address performance, availability,
and scalability. This will enable customers to boost business performance at lower
cost of ownership. The solutions will deliver on Hitachi’s strategic initiatives
including Tiered Storage, Storage Management, and Business Continuity, Content and
File Services and Data Protection solutions.
Vivekanand brings to the role strong technical expertise and a sound understanding
of Hitachi Data Systems’ products, services and strategic software initiatives. He
joined Hitachi Data Systems, India in 2001 as business development manager, and
later handled sales across India.
In 2004, he was responsible for driving the storage management solution business
line across Asia Pacific. Prior to this role he was sales director, Software
Solutions for Asia Pacific. Prior to joining Hitachi Data Systems, Vivekanand worked
with a storage integration company based in Bangalore, India.
